About Bill Newberry
Bill’s life story is no different from many of yours. He has spent the majority of his life living in Southern California. His parents believed in strict discipline towards education. They made certain Bill and his two sisters, Jeanie and Barbara, stayed focused on doing well in school. Respect towards each other, elders, and teachers, was essential in the Newberry household. His parents stressed at an early age, the importance of reading and writing. His childhood years of kindergarten through high school were filled with family love, strong spiritual beliefs with lots of uplifting encouragement. Everyday his parents checked on schoolwork and made sure the chores were done. It wasn’t until he became older that he realized the importance of what his parents taught. The values that his parents have instilled in him had a profound impact on his adult life. Bill is forever grateful for the patience and guidance his parents gave him.

After graduating high school, Bill enrolled at Cal State Long Beach and eventually earned a bachelor’s degree in business. He later returned to college to complete requirements for a master’s degree. Earning two diploma’s was a long and challenging road to higher education, but because of the values his parents ingrained in him at a young age, he was able to persevere.

Upon graduating college over two decades ago, Bill met his wife Jakki while living in Orange County. They became best of friends and shortly after were united in marriage. While working several years as school teacher, and later as a private business owner, he prospered and provided for his new family. Bill has been blessed to have four beautiful children in his life Trent, who is the oldest, and twins Tyler and Taylor, as well as his grandson, Silas who is a bundle of joy.

Nine years ago Bill decided to move his family to Corona, which is now known as Eastvale. His children attended local schools and have excelled in academics and athletics. His son Tyler is currently on a full ride football scholarship to the University of Arizona and will study medicine. His daughter Taylor was also a honors student at Roosevelt High School, and is attending Norco College. Bill has proudly passed on to his kids the values and importance of education his parents instilled in him.

Bill wants kids to know that hard work and keeping focused on schoolwork will help prepare them for college and many years beyond. A quote from Martin Luther King is so appropriate and one that he strongly believes in, “Intelligence plus character - that is the goal of true education”, we must have a both.

Bill is actively involved in education by volunteering his time and energy to make a positive impact on our schools. The kids from Corona and Norco neighborhoods directly benefit from Bill’s efforts. Through his involvement in the community and school district, he has made a difference in improving education for children in our school district. He has served as the Roosevelt High Booster club president for 4 years, and currently serving as the founding president of the Corona-Norco Schools Educational Foundation, which has raised over $250,000 just this year to benefit programs and services for the children of the district. Bill has a strong track record of getting involved, he sat on several committees with the School District, to include most recently the Superintendents Budget Committee and Land Use Committee.

Bill has received much recognition to include the JCSD Shining Star Award for his many contributions to Eastvale. Bill was recognized last year by the White House in Washington DC, the State of California, the County of Riverside and many others for his outstanding volunteerism and leadership.

Bill is endorsement by Riverside County Supervisor John Tavaglione, the Corona Norco Teachers Association, the Corona Police Officers Association, the Corona Fire Fighters Association, the Norco Fire Association, Eastvale City Council Elect Members, Adam Rush, Ike Bootsma, Ric Welch, and Kelly Howell, as well as many others.

Through his passion, dedication and appreciation for public education Bill Newberry knows he will have a positive impact on what is most important - KIDS!
